Mission
“The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story” – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Education—in its best form—can serve as a means of inclusion: it brings communities together through the shared goal of social mobility. However, for too many globally today, the reality of education is much different.
Voices in Education is an attempt to rebalance the dominant narratives that drive education policy, Educational Technology (EdTech), and all other facets of education systems internationally. By bringing together a diversity of voices, this project hopes to allow the personal narrative to become a powerful driving force in social change.
Perhaps the most powerful aspect of the personal narrative is not in the content itself, but in the act of telling those very stories and having an audience that places value in listening to those stories. The purpose of Voices in Education is to provide a platform to facilitate just that.
